             TTAC-Level 2-4 Swimmers & Parents CODE OF CONDUCT

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TTAC SWIMMERS GOVERNING PARTICIPATION IN THE TTAC
PROGRAM AND THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SWIM YEAR.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this code is to promote the best possible individual, team, and program responsibility,
which supports the development of first class citizens at all, times.

PART I – GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT RULES-SWIMMERS

1.        All participating team members will abide by this code of conduct.
2.        All participants will wear designated team suits during all competition.
3.        All athletes will participate in all designated championship meets they are qualified for.
4.        Use of alcoholic beverages is unacceptable at any time during the swim year.
5.        Use of drugs other than those prescribed by your physician is unacceptable at any time during the
year.
6.        Smoking is unacceptable at any time during the year.
7.        Disrespectful, indiscreet or destructive behavior will not be tolerated.  It is the responsibility of each
swimmer to make every effort to avoid guilt by association with such activities at any time during the year.
8.        Swimmer is responsible for bringing all equipment to every practice and having it with him/her on
the deck at the beginning of practice (this includes water, fins, hand paddles, goggles and cap).
9.        All swimmers are responsible for cleaning up the deck and collecting their belongings when practice
is over.
10.        All swimmers will use the locker room as a place to shower and change and not as a playground.
11.        Swimmers will show respect to each other at all times.
12.        Swimmers will arrive to swim meets at the designated warm-up times unless other arrangements
have been discussed with the Coach on deck.
13.        Swimmers will demonstrate sportsmanship-like qualities at swim meets and at practices and
refraining from use of inappropriate language and gestures.
14.        Swimmers will report all issues to the coaches if they cannot be resolved in an acceptable
manner.  Hitting ,name-calling, fighting, destruction of property, etc. is unacceptable.
15.        Swimmers will not go into lockers or bags that are not theirs to go into.  All lost/found items will be
turned in to one of the coaches.
16.        Show respect to coaches at all times.  Do not talk when they are talking, answer respectfully when
spoken to, do not take attitudes with coaches.
17.        All participants and their parents have a responsibility to do their best to ensure that this Code of
Conduct is adhered to and to help ensure the safety of these Program participants.

PART I – GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT RULES-PARENTS & FAMILY MEMBERS


1.        I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all swimmers, coaches,
and officials at every meet, practice, or other youth sports event.
2.        I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.
3.        I will support the implementation of the four character development values, caring, honesty, respect,
and responsibility.
4.        I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and
enjoyable experience for all.
5.        I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will
refrain from their  use at all youth sports events.
6.        I will remember that the activity is for the participating youth – not for the spectating adults.
7.        I will do the very best to make the youth sports experience fun for my child.
8.        I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a
respectful spectator. I will teach my child to treat other swimmers, coaches, fans, officials with respect
regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.
9.        I  as well as any of my family members will not cause any disruptive situations during any part of
TTAC’s  activities.
10.        I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in
youth sports by following this Parents’ Code of Ethics.


PART III- VIOLATION OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT RULES
   
At the discretion of the Head Coach any one or all of the following penalties will be applied:
1.        Swimmer may be scratched from the meet.
2.        Swimmer may be sent home immediately from practice or meet.
3.        Swimmer may be suspended from the team until the swimmer and parents have had a conference
with the Head Coach and Board of Directors and appropriate disciplinary actions have been
implemented.  This is automatic with violations of General Conduct Rules Part I 4,5,6 and (or) 7.

I, herby agree to abide by the rules of conduct as set forth in Part I & II above and acknowledge that, should
I violate any provision in Part I, I will be subject to disciplinary action, as set forth in Part III, including
suspension.
